Animecon 2013 Kirito Cosplay Elucidator by Magicalbjorn Animecon 2013 Kirito Cosplay Elucidator by Magicalbjorn
Here is my sketch for the sword props I'll be making for my Kirito cosplay outfit. I wanted to bring them to Animecon, but apparently, they are not allowed there. Such a sham :o! But, to complete the outfit and to have something nice to wear during the February holidays and partying during carnival (no idea if you know that :p), I am still making the swords!
This blueprint, along with the Dark Repulser, are two swords featured in the anime "Sword Art Online", as the weapons of the main protagonist Kirito, or Kirigaya Kazuto. This sword, called the Elucidator (エリュシデータ), dropped off a boss-fight somewhere around the level 50 dungeons. I've already started drawing this out life-size on a piece of wood, and will get to cutting it out on Friday :)

Anyway, let me know what you think !

And also let me know if you're going to Animecon!

Hehehe :)! Good you figured it out :)! Yes, you are right. I wanted to get some depth in my sword, kind of like a 3D-model'ish. So I decided to raise that part of the sword, on both sides. I made some adjustments, so glueing the parts together was easier.

Centimeters, yes :p It is almost done :) I'm now putting on the final layers of black coat, and after that, only the gray coat remains :)
